This course is designed to fulfill the SAFE Act requirement as a 2-hour general elective for continuing education. The course will explore the latest and most sophisticated forms of mortgage fraud. As technology continues to evolve the tactics used by fraudsters are evolving. In this course we will examine synthetic ID schemes, AI-generated document fraud, real estate investment scams, wire fraud, and crypto-based laundering.  We will also discuss how the various agencies tasked with oversight are working to detect, investigate and prosecute cases of mortgage fraud.
