NMLS #18475

This course provided a focused overview of Washington State’s regulatory framework for mortgage loan originators (MLOs), emphasizing state-specific licensing requirements, continuing education obligations, administrative procedures, and prohibited conduct. Key statutes and rules—including RCW 19.146 and WAC 208-660, were examined to ensure participants understand the expectations of the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (WA-DFI). Topics included proper trade name use, branch office licensing, the definition of “conducting business,” fiduciary obligations to borrowers, and actions that can trigger regulatory enforcement. By completing this course, MLOs strengthen their compliance foundation and maintain eligibility for license renewal in Washington.

Course Format:

  • Delivered in an online, self-study format
  • Organized into three interactive modules, each focusing on specific topics
  • Each module includes an engaging activity or case study to reinforce key concepts
  • Quizzes follow each module, with a final exam at the end of the course
  • Participants must complete all content sections, activities, quizzes, and the final exam to receive course credit
  • A certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion
