1 Hour SAFE: Mortgage Fraud: AI, Cybercrime & Risk Management in Lending

This one-hour general elective examines modern mortgage fraud risks facing today’s lending environment, including synthetic identity schemes, AI-generated documents, cyber-enabled wire fraud, and cryptocurrency-related fund laundering. Mortgage loan originators will explore how fraud has evolved, how criminals exploit technology and transaction pressure, and how suspicious activity is detected across lending, banking, and settlement systems. The course also explains the roles of investigative, prosecutorial, and regulatory agencies and why mortgage fraud often triggers multi-agency enforcement. Through real-world examples and applied analysis, participants will strengthen their ability to recognize red flags, understand enforcement exposure, and protect the integrity of mortgage transactions.
