This course provides Mortgage Loan Originators with a focused review of New Jersey mortgage laws and regulations. Topics include licensing, prohibited and required conduct, fees, disclosures, enforcement authority, borrower protections under the New Jersey Home Ownership Security Act, and state housing finance programs. Statute-based instruction helps participants identify legal risk and meet compliance obligations in residential lending.

2 Hour SAFE: Maximum Loan Amount & Collateral Risk in Residential Mortgage Lending

This two-hour elective explains how maximum residential mortgage loan amounts are determined through property value, borrower equity, LTV limits, and federal housing finance rules. It examines FHA and conventional program standards, statutory loan limits, appraisal methods, automated valuation tools, and risk controls. MLOs will see how valuation, leverage, and eligibility interact to determine whether a loan can be approved, insured, or sold.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • To attend this course, you must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a working webcam.  
  • Your webcam is required to be on for the duration of the course, and you must be physically present and visible from the shoulders up for the entirety of the course.  
  • Important: You will not be permitted to attend this course without a working webcam.
